Development Rates
You use the Development rates data grid to define resource-specific parameters that relate to the development rate.
You can define the parameters for development rates in the Development rates data grid, or you can use the spreadsheet view. To access the spreadsheet view, select Spreadsheet > Enable Spreadsheet Views, and then select the Development Rates spreadsheet. When the Development Rates spreadsheet is enabled, it replaces the Development rates data grid in the Development tab.
Tip: It is recommended that you create the development rate rule in the Development rates data grid. When you use the data grid, you can interact with the 3D Canvas, which makes filtering the headings to create the rules more efficient. It is not recommended that you enter the development rate rules in the spreadsheet view. The spreadsheet view does not give the same high level of interaction with the 3D Canvas that is available with the data grid.
Columns in the Development Rates Data Grid
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Active |
|
| Headings |
The names of the headings to which the development rate parameter is applied. A list of the headings is provided for you to select heading names.
|
| Length |
The length from the start of the heading to the point at which the parameter takes effect. The default length is 0, which means the parameter takes effect at the start of the heading. |
| Resources |
The name of the resources that are applied to the headings. Resources represent the combination of the crew and equipment that complete the mining activity. Resources are usually named for the equipment type. The resource is assigned to the heading using the MAX_RATE parameter. The MAX_RATE parameter specifies the maximum development rate the resource can achieve in the heading. The MAX_RATE can be achieved in the heading if it is equal to or less than the resource capacity for the resource. If the MAX_RATE is higher than the resource capacity for the resource, the MAX_RATE is not achieved in the heading. The resource capacity for a resource is defined in the Resource Capacity data grid. The lower value of the MAX_RATE and resource capacity is honoured during scheduling. It is recommended that you assign only one resource to each heading. If you assign multiple resources to a heading the MAX_RATE value applies to each individual resource, not to the sum of the assigned resources. The priorities, defined in the Precedences tab, control how the resources are allocated to the headings. If multiple headings are available, the resource is allocated to the heading with the highest priority among the available headings, then to the next highest priority available heading, continuing until the resource capacity is met. If multiple headings that have the same priority are available, and the Equal resource distribution check box is selected for the mining activity in the Setup Schedule > Activities tab, the resource rate is split evenly among the headings. If multiple headings that have the same priority are available, and the Equal resource distribution check box is cleared for the mining activity in the Setup Schedule > Activities tab, the resource is applied to individual headings of the same priority at its max rate until the capacity is reached. |
| Parameter |
The development rate parameter that is applied to the headings. |
| Value |
The value for the development rate parameter. |
| Date/event |
The date on which the development rate parameter is applied to the headings. You can use a calendar date or an event. The date or event plus the Delay determines the actual start date. You use the Calendar button to select a date from a calendar. You use the Ellipsis button to select an event using the Event Builder.
|
| Delay |
The delay after the Date/event before the parameter is applied to the heading. The default delay is 0. The delay can be any positive number.
Usually, delays are used when the Date/event is an event, and the actual date that the event occurs is not known until the schedule is run. |
| Comments |
The comments that you want to record for the development rate rule. If you are using spreadsheet view, you can use this column to enter values that you can use in formulas. |
